Johnsons Coach & Bus Travel of Henley-in-Arden has moved a step closer to green compliance with almost one-fifth of its fleet now Euro 6, thanks to the delivery of a pair of 53-seater 13m Scania Finesse coaches. They are part of an investment programme that saw two new Ford Torneo minibuses arrive in April. alt=”” src=”https://www.route-one.net/wp-content/uploads/Johnsons.jpg” style=”float:right” />
The two new coaches will mostly to be part of the busy private hire fleet, and have reclining half-leather seats, toilet, climate control, AV equipment and USB ports.
The firm – the country’s tenth largest private coach, bus and minibus operator with 100 vehicles – runs 48 coaches in its Johnsons-branded fleet.
Commercial Director John Johnson says: “We are investing heavily in vehicles with the latest engine technology. We now have 20 Euro 6 coaches and buses and more investment is already being planned for next year.
“Air Quality legislation will increase in the future. London will soon implement its Ultra Low Emission Zone and other major cities, like Birmingham – right on our doorstep – are to introduce Clean Air Zones. We are well placed to meet the needs of our customers and these new regulations.”
