As part of Trentbarton’s biggest-ever investment year, with £5m being spent on new buses, people travelling to/from East Midlands Airport are now doing so in greater comfort and style after nine new ADL Enviro200 buses joined the skylink Nottingham service.
They have innovative designs with captivating details to give customers a superior experience.
Trentbarton MD Jeff Counsell was joined at the launch by Lilian Greenwood MP (Nottingham South). She has just been appointed Chair of the Transport Select Committee, and fittingly, has put in more expense claims for travel on buses than any other MP (routeone, Whisperer, 20 September).
Built in Scarborough, the buses have LED lighting, visual and audio next-stop announcements, free wi-fi and USB power at every seat. Services run 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
More than £1m has been invested in the buses for skylink Nottingham, used by airport passengers and many of the 10,000 workers at and near East Midlands Airport. The route links Nottingham, Long Eaton, Loughborough and Coalville with the Airport.
A potential 20,000 new jobs are to be created at the largest pure freight airport in the UK and at the businesses in the East Midlands Enterprise Gateway area in the next decade.
