World Travel Market London 2018 was “one of the most successful WTM events to date”, says its organisers.
The huge show took over ExCeL London for three days on 6-8 November, attended by around 51,000 visitors, and with 5,000 exhibitors.
It was the 38th edition of the show, which started in 1980 with 40 countries and 221 exhibitors. It now hosts 182 countries from across the globe.
UKinbound supported the UK and Ireland area at the show, which had over 40 UK exhibitors in attendance – including Caledonian Sleeper, DJ Coaches, English Heritage, Golden Tours, Historic Royal Palaces, Hospitality Line, Kew, Made Tourism Marketing, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, Royal Museums Greenwich, The Original Tour, Visit Kent, Warner Bros Studio Tour, Wembley and Wimbledon.
The UK zone included separate areas for Visit Scotland, Tourism Ireland and Visit Wales stands.
The show was also a great opportunity for UK coach tour operators and GTOs to meet attractions and suppliers abroad, with most European countries represented, as well as exhibitors from Africa, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East.
On the first day of the show, the Coach Tourism Association (CTA) held its traditional reception for its members at the Fox pub – a chance for CTA members, including coach tour operators and suppliers, to network with drinks and nibbles.
