Robert ‘Bob’ McLeod, former Managing Director of Arriva Bus and Coach, has died at the age of 68.
Mr McLeod began his career in the automotive world by studying for an HND under a scheme run by dealership Rootes. He then worked in car sales until joining the fleet sales unit of Dodge Trucks.
In 1980 he moved to DAF Trucks and rose to the position of Dealer Regional Manager. By 1986, he had taken the General Manager’s role.
Mr McLeod joined Hughes DAF in Cleckheaton in 1989 at Sales Director. He became Managing Director in May 1992, where he remained until retirement on 2 April 2012. His passion was walking and holidays.
He leaves a wife, three children and seven grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Friday 22 March at 1330hrs at the Central Methodist Church in Brighouse, HD6 1AQ, and afterwards at the Holiday Inn.
