Scotland’s largest independent coach operator, Park’s of Hamilton, has placed what Volvo says is a “record-breaking order” for 39 new coaches – “the largest in the company’s history.”
Volvo says this is the largest-ever order for coaches that it has received from an operator in one go.
The order is for 10 B11R Jonckheeres, two for corporate and football team work.
Alongside are 10 B11R Plaxton Elites, two B8R Plaxton Leopard 70-seaters, and 17 B11R tri-axles for National Express. All are for delivery in Q1 and Q2 in 2018.
Park’s of Hamilton Director Michael Andrews says: “We felt that Volvo offered the best range of chassis and bodywork combinations that would provide us with the flexibility we need.
“Having been a customer since 1973, the Volvo offer is most definitely tried and tested by us.
Adds James Hyde, Retail Sales Director for Volvo Bus UK & Ireland,: “This is a particularly exciting order for us, from one of our longest standing customers.
“We see this as testament to Park’s complete trust in Volvo, not only in terms of the quality and operational performance of our vehicles and what they will deliver for them, but also in the after sales, back-up and support we provide to their Volvo fleet.”
