I was taking a group to the London Eye and pulled up to let my pax off.
A coach marshall came and gave me a piece of paper stating that a coach parking permit to allow you to drop-off and pick-up must be pre-booked. Coach parking bays are extremely limited therefore must be booked in advance.
The marshall told me that if I book I can have a parking space. However, the coach only bays are filled with construction traffic and although the lady has repeatedly asked them to move, none of them have.
As an industry we really need to come up with a plan of action to do something about the appalling mess that is our capital city.
We all have to share the tarmac, but we seem to be the only ones giving up any space. Go park in a taxi rank and see what happens. Go park in a bus stop and see what happens. Go park in a loading bay and see what happens.
Even the ministry itself, doing HGV spot checks, will prefer to use coach bays over any other bay. Surely there is something we can do?
