The winners of this year’s IRTE Skills Challenge were announced at an awards event held at Rockingham Motor Speedway last Thursday (12 July).
The message on the day was clear, the Skills Challenge, now in its eighth year, is showing no signs of slowing down.
Patron of The Society of Operations Engineers (SOE), Beverley Bell, says: “Every year we put on a competition, and every year it gets bigger and bigger…The coach and bus sector does not stand still, and this competition moves forward.”
And it was all-praise for the annual competition which encourages best practice in the industry, as well as a chance to showcase the talent and skills of those who work to keep it moving.
Keith McNally, Operations Director at the CPT, says: “This competition is vitally important; it plays an important role in raising safety standards and it encourages engineering best practice.
“It celebrates the true talent of those who do the inspections, who sort out the electrics, the body work, and the mechanical aspects of our fleets. It recognises and rewards great people and great companies.”
