Buses, showcasing the town’s destinations and businesses, to hit the roads of Doncaster
Doncaster Bus Partnership and the Doncaster Ambassador Scheme celebrated the launch of their ‘Doncaster is Great’ campaign last week (8 November), unveiling five branded buses at an event at Doncaster Racecourse.
The branded buses were on display to local businesses and stakeholders, which showcase the town’s top destinations and businesses, including CAST, Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust and National College of High Speed Rail, as well as a branded Doncaster Bus Partnership bus.
Doncaster Bus Partnership works with Doncaster Ambassadors to inspire local people and visitors to make the most of Doncaster’s attractions and get there by bus.
“This campaign aims to boost the borough as a vibrant place to live, work and invest by linking the buses to its main attractions through the Doncaster Ambassador Scheme, as well as encouraging people to travel sustainably to these top destinations,” says MP for Doncaster Central, Rt Hon Dame Rosie Winterton, DBE.
Allan Riggall, a spokesperson for the Doncaster Bus Partnership, adds: “We’re proud to provide Doncaster's bus network and we want our customers to feel proud to live and work here too.
“By encouraging more local people to invest their time and money in the town we hope this will increase footfall levels and boost pride in Doncaster.”
The Doncaster Bus Partnership was launched in May 2016 and is made up of Doncaster's bus service providers that work together to improve bus travel through a simpler and more co-ordinated service, and make bus travel a realistic option for the people of Doncaster.
