Network Warrington's revamped 20 and 21 bus routes, dubbed ‘the Pops’, launched on Monday (18 September) giving the town greater access to key locations including Warrington’s newest further education provider.
The Pops service now runs up to every 10 minutes during the day and will service key town centre locations including Orford Jubilee Hub, the Halliwell Jones Stadium, Golden Square and Warrington & Vale Royal College, formerly Warrington Collegiate.
New discounted group travel tickets have been introduced as part of bus route changes. Return tickets are now priced at £6 for two people, £8 for three people and £10 for four people.
Network Warrington MD Ben Wakerley says: “It's great to see that we've managed to turn customer feedback into action and, by working with partners like Warrington & Vale Royal College, I'm sure the updated Pops service will prove a success for our passengers.
“We're pleased that waiting times for the 20 and 21 buses have been cut and group fares introduced.
“It’s particularly important for us to ensure that our buses go straight to the front door of the college as frequently as possible, and hopefully the introduction of more buses will help to reduce congestion in the area with less people having to rely on other modes of transport.”
Nichola Newton, Principal and Chief Executive of Warrington & Vale Royal College, says: “To see our new college name on the side of the buses is fantastic. This is the start of what is sure to be a beneficial partnership for both organisations.”
