Shearings Leisure Group, which includes Shearings Holidays, National Holidays and the Coast and Country and Bay hotel brands, has reported growth in sales, profits and passenger numbers for the fourth consecutive year over the 12 months to December 2016.
The group’s revenue increased by 3% to £207.2m and passenger numbers grew by 4% to 1.12m. Underlying profit (adjusted EBITDA) improved by 13% to £10.3m.
CEO Richard Calvert, appointed earlier in 2017, says that the group plans to build on the positive results by investing in its brands, its hotels and its digital leisure platform.
“The kind of short breaks that today’s over-50s want has changed beyond recognition. We’re healthier and more adventurous than ever, and as interested in walking holidays in Austria and river cruises on the Rhine as hotel breaks on the Cornish coast.
“We continue to listen to our customers and evolve our offering to reflect the over-50s market.”
