ProVision advises fleet operators that a high-quality, connected, cloud-based system should be a major consideration for vehicle camera solutions.
Connected camera systems are much more useful than simply downloading footage after an incident.
Live viewing of vehicles that are parked when they shouldn’t be can be beneficial, and additionally, companies that need to monitor how staff carry out their work for compliance reasons can use such a system connected to a multi-camera configuration.
“Any operator that is serious about protecting its fleet needs a vehicle camera system that provides cloud connected remote access,” says Sales and Marketing Director Simon Murray.
“Many operators continue to receive inadequate fleet security and footage accessibility from basic solutions that are unfit for purpose. For instance, basic systems such as dash cameras are not suitable for commercial vehicles. They are too unreliable, simplistic and lacking in functionality.”
Adds MD Mervyn O’Callaghan: “Simple camera systems can lull transport managers into a false sense of security, believing that journeys are being recorded when in fact they may miss the crucial part of an incident by not covering all angles.”
