Blackpool Transport unveiled 25 brand new ADL Enviro400 City buses on Sunday (9 April).
Finished in the instantly recognisable ‘Palladium’ brand, the buses offer free Wi-Fi, USB charging points, social seating on the upper deck and next stop audio/visual announcements amongst other features.
Improved seating on the upper saloon means that families, children and adults alike can make better use of their travel time with seats grouped around three tables.
The delivery of these 25 vehicles, fulfils MD Jane Cole’s commitment to bolstering its fleet year-on-year. Her vision is to ensure no bus in Blackpool is older than five years by 2020, with 54 buses out of a fleet of 140 now finished in the high-grade Palladium specification.
She says: “Our partnership with ADL has gone from strength to strength since 2016.
“We have received excellent feedback on the 10 vehicles that launched in July 2016 from customers and driving staff, hence the decision to place an order for a further 25 this year.
“We’ve explored ways in which we can improve the vehicles to better benefit our customers and Alexander Dennis have worked with us to achieve our goals.”
