The review of the way that Stagecoach UK bus operations use the livery and brand is still ongoing according to the company (routeone, News, 1 February).
The review follows an audit of liveries and branding across the entire Stagecoach bus fleet earlier this year.
Despite the company saying no decisions have been taken, Route One understands that the way the livery, company logo and route branding are applied is now being tightly regulated to create consistency across the operations. Part of this brand regulation is expected to see tighter restriction placed on non-standard route and network liveries in favour of giving greater prominence to the main corporate image and brand.
In recent years there have also been regional variations in the way that company logos are applied to vehicles in corporate livery. A number of buses are also currently operating without company branding.
A Stagecoach spokesperson said: “like many companies we continue to look at our brand and how we engage with our customers and staff. Part of this work is to look at our livery and the way it is used across the country, however no decisions have yet been made around the future direction of the brand or livery”.
