Brighton & Hove Buses has teamed with the City Council, East Sussex Fire and Rescue and Sussex Police and offered cyclists a chance to take part in a demonstration of bus blind spots on Friday (8 December).
Ed Knight, of Brighton & Hove Buses, said: “This is the second of these events. We held one up at Sussex University and it was a huge success. Dozens of students and lecturers took turns to sit in the cab while my colleague Darren Eaton from the fire service cycled towards the bus: first cutting in behind it and then moving towards the front on the off-side.
Cyclists sat in the cab of a double-decker and saw for themselves what a driver can and can’t see when a cyclist is moving towards them.
