A 30-year-old graduate from Pontefract has a new role involved in the running of Stockton bus depot as Assistant Operations Manager with Stagecoach North East.
Ryan Norbury, who graduated from Leeds Beckett University with an LLB Honours degree in Law, has just started his second year on Stagecoach’s acclaimed Graduate Training Programme. During his time at the Teesside bus depot, he will oversee its daily running with duties including assessing operations, dealing with incidents and queries, recruitment and staff management and liaison with engineering, while progressing with his on-going training and development of his skills.
Ryan spent his first year on the training scheme based in Aberdeen as part of Stagecoach North Scotland’s operations, where he worked within different departments at various depots. He also learned to drive a bus and obtained his PCV licence.
Speaking about joining Stagecoach’s graduate programme, Ryan says: “The varied nature of the role and the opportunity to become an operations manager in two years showed the trust that the company has in its programme and the people it recruits.”
