Stagecoach Express X10 – which provides a fast, limited stop connection between Barnsley and Leeds – has received top marks from passengers in a new on-board survey, with 99% of customers saying they would recommend the serivce.
The customer comments will lead to several service changes to the X10 from 22 July. Says Matt Davies, Managing Director of Stagecoach Yorkshire: “We asked customers to give feedback on the timetable to help us improve the service to suit customers travelling needs.”
Other areas to come out on top in the survey included the service’s drivers, on-board music and access to free wi-fi.
It was also revealed that almost 80% of those surveyed had switched from alternative modes of transport, including cars and trains, to use the X10 service.
Matt Davies, Managing Director of Stagecoach Yorkshire, says: “Customer feedback and satisfaction is central to everything we do at Stagecoach, which is why we are continually evaluating and appraising our services.
“The new X10 service is clearly proving popular with passengers looking to travel between Barnsley and Leeds for work or leisure and provides a fantastic alternative to travelling by train or car, sitting in traffic or paying expensive city centre parking charges.
“What is particularly interesting is how many new customers we have attracted by introducing this service. More than 20% of passengers wouldn’t have made the journey previously.”
