First York has entered into a partnership with train operator First TransPennine Express to offer the first bus and rail season ticket for students.
The term-time ticket will allow students to travel by rail between Leeds and York and then on all First York bus services. It costs £480 for the summer term, representing a saving of nearly £300 over two separate season tickets.
Says Marc Bichtemann, First York MD (pictured, left): “We’re pleased to be working with TransPennine Express to launch a new integrated term-time ticket for students.
“We hope that the new rail and bus ticket will encourage more students to consider using local transport as their preferred mode to get in and around York.”
