National Express West Midlands (NEWM) employs over 5,500 staff, which this year includes 29 apprentices in roles across the company’s ten garages in the region.
In January this year, 17-year-old Chian Edwards from Tipton followed in her sister and her father’s footsteps by joining NEWM.
Chian is the newest Edwards’ family recruit having recently started an admin apprenticeship at the Wolverhampton bus garage.
Says Chian: “My sister completed her apprenticeship last year and was given a permanent role at the end of it, so I’m hopeful that I can achieve the same.”
“I’m enjoying it so far and hope that through my apprenticeship I will develop my potential for a long-lasting career with National Express.”
