MiX Telematics has entered into a partnership with the European Transport Safety Council (ETSC) to promote and encourage best practice in road safety throughout Europe.
MiX Telematics will take a prominent role at this year's ETSC's safety seminar, which takes place at the Crown Plaza, National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, on 23 May.
"ETSC is an independent non-governmental organisation which has campaigned for 25 years for improvements in road safety throughout Europe," comments Marc Trollet, Managing Director for MiX Telematics (Europe).
“MiX Telematics provides telematics-based solutions for commercial fleets and consumers with a heavy emphasis on improving safety in operations. Recognising that up to 40% of collisions are work-related, our partnership with ETSC is a perfect fit which shares many common goals."
The 23 May event will showcase organisations which have introduced work-related road safety programmes. In addition to discussing the safety benefits of their initiatives, these companies will be talking about how their introduction has been good for business.
At the event, ETSC will present its PRAISE project, which uses events, reports and an annual awards programme to reach out to businesses across Europe. Previous winners of the PRAISE award include Johnson & Johnson, Royal Dutch Shell and British Telecom.
Commenting on its partnership with MiX Telematics, Antonio Avenoso, Executive Director for ETSC, says: "We are delighted that MiX Telematics is supporting our work and our PRAISE project. The focus MiX Telematics has on road safety is very much in tune with ETSC’s objectives."
