It’s a first for Go-Ahead with Volvo B5LH MCV

Go-Ahead London has taken delivery of the first of a batch of 20 Volvo B5LH Euro 6 hybrid double-deck buses with new MCV bodywork, which are the first of two orders totalling 85 for delivery throughout 2016.

Built to Transport for London (TfL) standards and Go-Ahead specifications, this is the first bus with the new MCV EvoSeti bodywork on a hybrid chassis to be deployed in London and will be initially operating on the Dulwich-Aldgate routes 35 and 40. 

With a further 19 to shortly enter service, the remaining 65 will be rolled out during the rest of this year.

“We visited the MCV factory in Egypt with Volvo to see the new bodywork being developed and manufactured, and it’s great to see it finished, on the chassis and entering service in London.”

The Volvo B5LH hybrid driveline delivers proven best in class fuel economy and CO2 reductions of up to 39% compared with their conventional diesel equivalents, as well as achieving the highest possible levels of reliability.
