Mellor Coachcraft has announced the second member of its line-up that will make its debut at the CV Show at the NEC Birmingham next week.
Complementing the Orion E will be the high-floor Strata HF, which is built on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter base vehicles and is aimed primarily at the local authority and community transport sectors.
Like its low-floor stablemate, it capitalises on lightweight composites.
The coachbuilt minibus is able to carry up to 19 seated passengers or seven wheelchair users in long-wheelbase form, or 16 and six respectively in medium wheelbase layout.
The floor is completely flat and there is no slope and no internal steps. An inboard or outboard lift can be specified.
“Our approach with the new model has been to offer our customers greater value. Visitors to the CV Show will be able to see first-hand the leap forward that we have made both in terms of internal space and the quality of finish,” says Mellor Coachcraft MD John Randerson.
