Wales has its first hybrid buses, thanks to a secondhand pair of 2013 Optare Solos bought by Cardiff-based New Adventure Travel. They were previously operated by Reays of Cumbria.
Unlike the English and Scottish governments, the Welsh government has yet to offer a green bus fund. It means that the principality’s operators still use diesel buses.
In January, Welsh Infrastructure Minister Ken Skates said he would examine the possibility of capital grants through a possible Better Bus Fund. “It’s something we’re looking at,” he said.
