The Whisperer understands that the Bedford YRQ put up a valiant fight

Many old coaches and buses make a final journey to Barnsley, but Bank Holiday Monday saw several engage in a different end-of-life ritual that didn’t require a mechanical grab to pull them to bits. Buxton Raceway hosted a PCV demolition derby, with participants including a Duple 320, a Dennis Dart SLF and a Mercedes-Benz minibus.

Also present was a Plaxton Paramount-bodied Bedford YRQ, which ended rather worse for wear. Perhaps not a restoration candidate, thinks The Whisperer.
