East Midlands operator joined HCT Group in April; following stakeholder feedback, it now has a new name as it looks forward to becoming ‘a genuine partner’ in transport delivery throughout Derbyshire
Community Transport for Town and Country (CT4TC) was renamed Derbyshire Community Transport on 4 May, after becoming part of HCT Group a month earlier.
Currently, the change will be limited to the brand and the look going forward. Full legal updates to the name will follow.
“Changing everything at once would be expensive. We’d rather focus our resources on providing community transport services. The new name will be added to things as we go along,” says Chief Executive Patrick Dawson.
Mr Dawson adds that the decision to join HCT Group was made to allow Derbyshire CT to face the future with confidence.
“We’ve also listened to the feedback of our service users, our stakeholders, and our staff. They all told us that it would be better to have a name that reflects where we’re from and what we do, rather than just a jumble of letters and numbers.”
Adds Dai Powell, HCT Group Chief Executive: “Derbyshire CT is setting out its stall, looking to new opportunities in the months and years ahead. It’s an exciting time as Derbyshire County Council has recently set out its vision in a new transport strategy.
“We believe that Derbyshire CT is well-placed to be a genuine partner in that, helping to deliver a vision.”
