Largest retail coach order of the year for Scania GB sees 13.2m models added to fleet for first time
Scania Great Britain has delivered its largest retail coach order of 2017 to City Circle in the form of 16 Irizar i6-bodied K 410 EB chassis, taking the operator’s fleet of Scanias to more than 40.
It is the fifth consecutive year that City Circle has taken the Scania Irizar i6 combination, and the latest delivery also represents the largest order to date for it in 13.2m form, a length that was introduced in 2016 and which has rapidly become the range’s best seller.
“The experience we have of the Scania Irizar product for our high-end work has been superb,” says City Circle Managing Director Neil Pegg.
“Our passengers and drivers alike have been highly impressed with the looks, specification level, comfort and performance. The complete package that Scania offers with the coaches is attractive, and is delivered to an extremely high level.”
Receipt of the latest batch of coaches means that City Circle, is now almost 100% Euro 6 compliant.
They have the 12.9-litre DC13 engine developing 410bhp that relies only on SCR to achieve Euro 6 coupled to the Opticruise automated gearbox.
The i6 bodies seat 53 passengers and they have wi-fi, USB charging points and integrated satellite navigation among many other fittings. Scania’s Colour Plus dash is also part of the package. It offers the driver instant performance information and is linked to the complimentary fleet management service.
