All that was good at
Euro Bus Expo 2018
The industry put on a superlative show for attendees at
Euro Bus Expo. Here are some of the days’ highlights
There was plenty to see at Euro Bus Expo.
Vehicles were at the forefront, including some
from names that had not been seen at a show
in the UK before, some that were completely
new and making their debut, and others that
are established favourites of the industry.
Products, equipment and services were just
as prominent, with many different items that
can make a difference all on display.
As covered elsewhere News/p5, Mellor
debuted its extended Strata Plus and Strata
Ultra low-floor minibuses. The 26-passenger
Plus and the 30-passenger Ultra have been
designed using knowledge gained with
the standard-length Strata, says MD John
“Our production methods have become
smarter and the two new variants will
continue our expansion into a new segment
of the market,” he adds. The Plus has already
achieved Low Emission Bus certification and
the Ultra will follow.
Another high-capacity Sprinter making its
debut in the UK was the City 75, supplied by
EvoBus (UK). Like the Strata Ultra, is has an
increased GVW, in this case to 6,800kg.
That will allow it to carry up to 38
passengers in theory, but the UK supplier
is still finalising the internal configuration;

seating capacity will be prioritised. The City
75 is likely to come here in the medium term.
Accessible high-floor minibuses were
also prominent. GM Coachwork showed a
Volkswagen New Crafter medium wheelbase
conversion with an inboard stretcher lift and
eight Phoenix seats. Up to two wheelchair
users can be carried in this vehicle.
Nu-Track displayed its Sprinter-based
City Lift. It can carry up to 22 seated
as would be expected,

passengers or six wheelchair users; a nonaccessible
variant is also available that can
accommodate 23 seats.
TBC Conversions also showed an accessible
Crafter, albeit the previous model. It is one of
the last available prior to TBC moving over to
the New Crafter.
Minicoaches on form
Minicoaches were, as would be expected, in
good form at Euro Bus Expo. EVM showed
examples of its established range, including
