MANAGER Hunts Coaches are seeking a Transport Manager to
be part of our professional and dedicated team.
■ Eff ectively and continuously manage transport activities of licence
holder to a standard beyond that required by DVSA
■ Allocate work
■ Advise drivers of their duties
■ Sharing weekend and evening cover
■ Driving as required
■ Ensure drivers comply with driver hours, tachograph rules and speed limits
■ Arrange with workshop foreman to ensure vehicles are maintained,
inspections are carried out at appropriate time scales and to ensure tacho
checks and calibrations are booked and carried out when required
■ Delegate work to assistant as needed
■ Manage drivers
■ Disciplinary action if needed
■ Authorise driver holidays
■ Manage Health & Safety (Via Third Party)
■ Work with Assistant to carry out all remaining tasks required by the role

Based at our main workshops in Cardiff and Reportable to the Managing
Director this role will oversee the day to day planning and delivery of the
Engineering Function across our three locations in South Wales managing
approximately 35 staff to undertake work including scheduled maintenance,
repairs, servicing and defect rectifi cation.
You will be tasked to ensure we’re getting maximum productivity from our
engineering staff by ensuring they are well motivated, encouraging teamwork and
by identifying any shortcomings in our structures or systems to improve effi ciencies.
Performance reports and other forms of reporting key performance indicators will
also be a daily requirement.
• Must have a sound engineering background in the maintenance/repair of
passenger carrying or large goods vehicles including a comprehensive knowledge
of vehicle systems and layouts;
• Able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines within defi ned budgetary limits;
• Have a sound knowledge of, company vehicle types, maintenance procedures,
working arrangements, and relevant DVSA legislation;
• Must have gained an engineering qualifi cation to at least an NVQ level 3 or
