It’s that time of the year again. Announcement of the finalists for the 2019 routeone Awards takes matters one step closer to the naming of the winners at October’s prestigious presentation evening
Judging for the 2019 routeone Awards is up and running, with the diverse panel of industry experts having come together to create a shortlist of potential winners in each of the 16 categories.
Via extensive deliberation prior to meeting at the Peterborough offices of routeone, the eight-strong panel carefully assessed this year’s exceptionally strong crop of entries. Shortlisting is key to finding the winners, and it is taken seriously by all involved.
With experience in commercial, operational, training, vehicle manufacture and Traffic Commissioner roles, the judges are well-placed to deliver an impeccable verdict on every entry. Doing so is a meticulous process, and it delivers results that are entirely credible.
There is one caveat. In some categories, judgment is reserved until more information is received. Therefore, shortlisting in the five people categories is on hold until interviews are held in Peterborough on 23-24 July.
For the Special Award, there is no shortlist. The winner is determined by the judges based on his or her contribution to the industry. As with all other winners, they will be named at the presentation evening, to be held on 2 October at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole to coincide with Coach & Bus UK.

Judging integrity
Now in its 15th year, the routeone Awards benefits from a judging panel made up of eight senior industry figures. For 2019, long-serving members Steve Dewhurst, Chris Heaps, Tony Kennan, Peter Nash and Kevin Wood have been joined by Joan Aitken, Richard Delahoy and Kevin Middleton.
It is only thanks to their efforts, and the backing of valued Partners and Supporters, that the routeone Awards can do what it does best: Recognise and reward the coach and bus industry’s finest people and operators.
As ever, this year’s presentation evening will be hosted by a high-profile media personality. We look forward to welcoming you.

routeone Comment
The routeone Awards is widely acknowledged as the industry’s most prestigious event. Partnership packages are already sold out, and demand for tickets is expected to be equally strong. The advice is, as always, to book early via the routeone Awards website.
