To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Marshalls of Sutton on Trent has donned a new crest on its vehicles – designed by local schoolgirl Summer Marriott.
The competition was for local schoolchildren to design the new crest to be used on the firm's vehicles for a year, using the existing crest's basket weave, honeycomb and River Trent elements.
Marshalls' Tracey Cull says: “We were absolutely overwhelmed by the response we received in the office from all the schools across the county. This of course made the job of choosing the winning design even more difficult, and we were amazed by the effort which was clearly put into the designs by all the children.”
Summer, 11, who attends Tuxford Primary Academy School, was unanimously chosen as the winner. She was invited with her family and her art teacher to Marshalls' depot on Sunday 16 June for the crest's reveal, and was also given a copy of the crest to take home.
The school was also awarded a £250 discount on coach hire.
Marshalls was founded by John Marshall in 1989 using a Bedford YRQ 45-seater with Plaxton Supreme bodywork.
