Lothian Buses and Stagecoach South Scotland are among the nominees for the 2026 Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Awards.

At the event at Edinburgh International Conference Centre on 26 February, Lothian Buses is in contention for Large Business of the Year and the Developing the Young Workforce Award.

Meanwhile, the Stagecoach operator will be up for Net-Zero Champion of the Year.

The awards celebrate organisations, teams and individuals in Edinburgh’s business community in 16 categories.

Lothian Buses will be vying with Capella Charity, EQ Chartered Accountants, Forth Ports, Lumo, and Thorntons Law LLP for Large Business honours.

The operator, which is one of the capital’s biggest employers with more than 2,500 staff, recently announced a 2.6% year-on-year patronage rise to 119 million journeys in 2025.

Stagecoach South Scotland says it has been recognised for its introduction of 48 new battery-electric buses in 2025 across several depots, as well as investment in charging infrastructure.

It also notes the launch of Edinburgh Airport’s first fully electric bus service, JET747.

The operator adds it has reduced carbon emissions by more than 1,200 tonnes in 12 months and made progress towards eliminating its waste to landfill.

Fiona Doherty, Managing Director of Stagecoach South Scotland, says: “Being shortlisted for Net-Zero Champion of the Year is a powerful recognition of the commitment and expertise of our teams right across South Scotland.

“While projects like the electric JET747 service are highly visible, they sit within a much larger programme of investment that is reshaping our fleet, our depots and our environmental impact.

“This shortlisting reflects the scale of what our colleagues are delivering every day to support Scotland’s journey to net-zero.”
