Skegness bus driver Barrie Parkinson has been recognised at this year’s Stagecoach Group Champions Awards.
The Stagecoach East Midlands employee was awarded a Special Champions Award for his selfless actions after being involved in a head-on collision.
Barrie’s legs were crushed in the cab and he was airlifted to hospital, but his first reaction was to look up and check on his passengers and phone control to report the incident.
Stagecoach East Midlands MD Matt Cranwell congratulated Barrie on the “thoroughly deserved” award recognising this “heroic act”.
