Employees at the Oxford Bus Company and its sister companies – Thames Travel, Carousel and Oxford City Sightseeing – have been awarded at the firm’s annual ‘The Really Amazing Awards’.
Staff scoped the awards in eight categories, rewarding long service and exceptional performance by teams and individuals.
The Long Service Award celebrated a combined 325 years of service by ten colleagues and Mohammed Faradoon was rewarded for 50 years of service.
Ken Edwards was awarded Star of the Year, an award chosen from the Star of the Month awards from 2018. Oxford Bus Company Travel Shop Assistant Sharon Palfreeman was awarded Customer Hero for consistently going above and beyond for customers. While Andy Seeney received the Health, Safety and Well-being award.
Night Control Duty Manager Robin Farmer received the Unsung Hero award and PickMeUp driver Dennis O’Keefe won the Embracing Innovation gong. Carousel Service Controller Paul Knight scooped the Rising Star accolade, for consistently pushing herself outside her comfort zone and learning new skills. Carousel Service Controllers won the A Team award for excelling as a team across 2018.
