National Express has announced the retirement of John Gilbert after more than 30 years in the industry.
John, who has served the company since 1984, will remain a familiar face, providing support on specific National Express projects on an ad-hoc consultancy basis going forward.
Over a career spanning 33 years with National Express Group, John made a huge contribution both to the success of the business and the wider transport industry.
His work on EU Passenger Rights legislation is of particular note. More recently, John has led the integration of National Express’ European coach services with the core National Express network, ensuring an increasingly seamless interchange between white coach and continental services.
National Express MD, Chris Hardy, says: “It’s often said what John doesn’t know about the coach business you could write on a stamp and his enthusiasm and commitment is apparent in all he does.
“We are pleased John will still be a familiar face at National Express and we wish him the very best with his future endeavours.”
