Nottingham City Council will take delivery for five electric minibuses “later this year”.
A spokesperson for the council tells miniplus that it is yet to conclude the tendering process for the new vehicles.
The council has made significant investments in electric vehicles in a bid to reduce the CO2 and NOx in Nottingham.
As well as having one of the country’s largest electric bus fleets and being the first in the UK to launch its all-electric park-and-ride service, the city has deployed four new fully-electric street sweepers – a first for the UK.
The zero-emission street sweepers and cage tippers are the latest innovative measure to tackle air quality by the city.
