Sir William Wright CBE pays tribute to Chairman and CEO’s ‘long and dedicated’ two-decade service
Wrights Group Chairman and CEO Mark Nodder OBE has retired after over 20 years’ service.
Mr Nodder started his tenure with the business in 1998, when it was called Robert Wright and Son (Coachworks), as head of aftersales service, known as Customcare.
He rapidly rose through the ranks, becoming Group Managing Director in 2006 before taking up his most recent role.
Since Mr Nodder joined Wrights Group its annual turnover has grown from £30m to £200m and he is credited with having opened new markets in America and the Far East.
Other achievements include the delivery of the prestigious New Routemaster project, which saw 1,000 custom-designed double-deckers supplied to Transport for London.
In making the announcement of Mr Nodder’s retirement, Sir William Wright CBE paid tribute to his dedication to Wrights Group.
“The board will always be grateful to Mark for his long and dedicated service.
“The regard in which he is held in the bus industry speaks for itself, and his wider services to the Northern Irish economy were rightly recognised in 2015 when he received an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.”
The announcement of a new CEO is expected very soon, the Group confirms.
