Over-55s specialist Grand UK Holidays has invested in a new ‘Gold’ coach, worth more than £300,000, for its upmarket Grand UK Gold brand. The luxurious 44-seat Irizar i6s coach is bigger than other coaches in the operator’s Gold fleet, and is equipped with the latest technology to improve safety on the road. It offers extra legroom, reclining leather seats, USB ports free Wi-Fi.
Stylish, black tinted panoramic windows offer maximum views for passengers, who can also pass the time with an on-board library, drinks machine and fridge.
Grand UK Holidays’ parent company, The UK Holiday Group, have worked closely in partnership with coach operator Olympia Travel of Wigan to design the bespoke coaches for the Grand UK Gold fleet.
Ian Clarke, coaching controller at The UK Holiday Group, says: “Safety and comfort are paramount to us and this investment ticks both those boxes.
“Our new luxury Gold coach offers our holidaymakers what they have come to expect when travelling on a Grand UK Gold coach – and much, much more.
“We have increased safety measures by taking advantage of latest technologies. The Advance Emergency Breaking System (AEBS) uses a camera at the front of the vehicle to measure distances and applies gentle pressure to the brakes if that distance is compromised, while the Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) will sense if the vehicle is drifting off-lane and send a warning by vibrating the driver’s seat.
“Our Gold holidays are always a popular choice with customers, and we’re delighted to be able to improve their holiday with us by providing even more luxury.
“This coach provides an additional four seats and is more than 1.5 metres longer than our previous Gold coaches.”
Grand UK Gold itineraries offer trips across the UK, including tours of the south coast, the Cotswolds, Yorkshire, Northumbria and Scotland.
The Gold holidays also feature three- and four-star hotels, a commemorative photograph, a welcome reception at the accommodation, and a dedicated welcome pack with travel goodies.
