First Aberdeen MD Duncan Cameron resigns

Duncan Cameron, First Aberdeen’s MD, is to leave early in 2015 to join award-winning logistics company ARR Craib Transport as Performance Director.

First Aberdeen runs 175 buses with 500 staff; Aberdeen-based ARR Craib runs 200 trucks and 500 trailers, with 360 staff.

Says First UK Bus Regional MD Dave Alexander: “Duncan has made a fantastic and significant contribution to the success of First Aberdeen. His leadership, commitment and passion for customer service has delivered outstanding results and improved the quality of journeys that our passengers experience.

“The search to find his successor is underway and we’re determined to build upon Duncan’s many achievements and ensure that our commitment to improving services and attracting new passengers continues.”

Having secured a place on FirstGroup’s graduate programme in 2001, he had a number of promotions before becoming MD in 2012. Under his direction First Aberdeen delivered passenger growth for the first time in recent years.
