NCT driver retires from the buses after 50 years

Nottingham City Transport driver Mo Cartledge, 65, has finally hung up his keys after 47 years’ service with the operator.

.Mo started with NCT as a conductor at the age of 18 in 1967 before becoming a driver in 1970. He now looks forward to travelling the country with his wife Frances, who he met at work, in their caravan.

“NCT has been such a big part of my family and working for it has been brilliant,” he says. “I can’t believe how quickly 47 years has flown by. I enjoyed my time as a conductor, but was proudest when I became a driver. NCT’s driver training is to an incredibly high standard.”
