Reading Buses Marketing and Communications Manager Jake Osman is taking part in Launchpad’s Big Sleep Out on 29 August, leaving his own bed and duvet for a night of sleeping rough while raising money for the operator’s charity of the year.
All he will have for the night is a cardboard bed, and is safe in the knowledge that the event will go ahead regardless of the weather, giving a taster of what Reading’s homeless experience every night. Jake will be joined by 99 other people in the fundraising bid.
Jake, pictured above left,says: “Launchpad holds this event every year, and encourages people to experience a very tiny piece of what life is like when sleeping rough.
“I have done other fundraising events before, including a marathon for Launchpad, but this will be my biggest challenge yet. Our partnership with Launchpad is really helping to raise awareness of the charity and its work.â€
