Stagecoach Newcastle staff run for charity

Staff and their families at Stagecoach North East’s Newcastle depot pulled on their trainers and sportswear and took to the road to help get fit, feel healthy and raise money for a charity close to their hearts.

48 people took part in a 5km fun run at The Town Moor in Newcastle, a large area of common land, as part of the Better Health at Work award, which the depot is currently working towards. They also raised over 700 for the Caring for Kian charity, which helps Depot Duty Manager Alan Gordon’s two-year-old grandson in his battle against cancer.

David Wakefield, Operations Manager, says: “The day was a success with everyone enjoying themselves and promising to continue with some form of regular exercise.”
