Coach parking trial extended

An initial six-week trial enabling up to 30 coaches a day to be parked at Go-Ahead’s Camberwell and Stockwell depots has been extended for four months to 31 October.

CPT using a leaflet to publicise the improved arrangements

And in the deal brokered by the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT), it is now open to all operators, with CPT members now receiving a discounted price.

The parking facilities, just a couple of miles and less than 15 minutes’ drive from central London’s key tourist destinations, are open from 0900-1700hrs, Monday to Friday.

In order to publicise the improved arrangements, the CPT is also distributing information leaflets, to get the message about the facilities – which are safe and secure – to a wider audience.

The price for CPT members has been reduced from £35 to £30 per day. For non-CPT members and overseas operators the charge is £40 per day. All charges are subject to a £1.50 administration fee and VAT.

The extension, price-drop and opening availability to all, follows a mid-term review of the original six-week trial. The new arrangements start immediately.

In addition, a second phone line for bookings has been added.

To book, call a dedicated credit card hotline on 020 7257 2507/2521 (0900-1700hrs Monday-Friday) or contact parkmycoach@cpt-uk.org.

Same-day bookings are not accepted and cancellations are non-refundable.

Bookers will be asked to provide their operating name, driver details, vehicle registration number, purpose of visit and expected arrival and departure times upon booking.

A confirmation email including a booking reference number will be sent once payment has been authorised, and the driver must present the booking reference number on arrival; there are no driver facilities at either depot.

CPT’s deal with Go-Ahead is a viable alternative to on-street parking and 30 spaces are on offer, 20 at Camberwell depot (SE5 9JH) and 10 at Stockwell (SW4 6ST). Both, on the A202 and A203 respectively, are close to Vauxhall.
