Greenbank Travel takes two Ford Transit Trends

Shotts, North Lanarkshire-based Greenbank Travel is running a pair of Ford Transit Trend minibuses, supplied by David Fishwick (01282 867772).

“I chose the Trend model because of its increased headroom, better upholstery and seat style, and the air-conditioning in the passenger compartment,” says Director Jim McMillan. “I had considered minicoaches but felt that the additional cost could no longer be justified on the work my company carries out.”

The two Transits are used on a mixture of school contracts and trips, and general private hire duties.

“I felt that my business would benefit from minibuses that were practical enough to be used on school work, but still had aspects that made them suitable for moving adults with some additional comforts,” adds Jim.

“The drivers are very impressed with the improved driving experience which is provided by the new Transit. Most describe it as being similar to driving a modern family saloon car, with all the additional features that brings. The cruise control, lower road noise, Ford Sync, and comfortable seating are well received.

The two Ford Transit Trend minibuses with Greenbank Travel have been well received by drivers and passengers

“Passengers love the increased space in the rear compartment, the improved reclining seats, the cup holders, and the vastly improved heating/ air conditioning system.  The improved wide access door and automatic side step are particularly well appreciated by persons of limited mobility, and it improves the safe loading and unloading of small children. The large windows with improved visibility also receive favourable comments.

“I have owned five older models of Ford Transit minibuses and the new model is without doubt the most refined. It is more towards the mini coach end of the scale when it comes to practical cost effective minibuses.  Both minibuses provide a constant fuel consumption of between 26 – 27 mpg and the new Euro 6 engine is certainly smoother and just as responsive. One of minibuses has been  in daily use for 12 months now, and I am glad to report no faults or downtime apart from routine inspections/service,” says Jim.
