Further investment in Oxford Bus Company’s coach fleet has seen five Volvo B11Rs with Panther bodywork enter service, supplied by Plaxton (01909 551166). .
The new coaches are used on OBC’s X90 service to London, and its Airline routes to Gatwick and Heathrow. They have just 44 seats and a toilet to ensure the best possible on-board environment for passengers and follow five 65-seat Elite-i interdeckers delivered last year, meaning that OBC’s coach fleet has an average age of just three years.
Phil Southall, Operations Director, says: “We face tough competition to London, but we know that high-quality vehicles with plenty of legroom are popular with our current passengers, and will help attract newcomers.â€
Power comes from a Volvo 11-litre engine coupled to I-Shift transmission.
