Sim’s Travel, based in Holmrook, Cumbria, has purchased a DAF-powered i6S integral.
It has been supplied by Irizar UK (01909 500514) as part of a move towards overall Euro VI compliance.
The i6S is Sim’s third Irizar integral in three years. Director Andrew Sim says the powertrain is a major reason for its continuing business. Sim’s Travel has opted for ZF’s Traxon automated manual gearbox.
“We took our first modern DAF-powered coach in 2007, and we have a very good relationship with local dealer Solway DAF. It undertakes our service work and inspections.”
The latest coach is a 12.9m model with 53 i6 Plus seats and a centre toilet. Aircraft-style overhead luggage lockers are fitted along with USB charging points and a drinks machine.
