SmartVision wing mirror replacement and next-stop announcements are the latest additions to 21st Century’s range of on-board technologies.

The SmartVision Camera Monitoring System is to be mandated in London as part of Transport for London’s (TfL) Vision Zero strategy to remove all deaths and serious injuries from the capital’s roads by 2041.

It is being viewed by operators as a way to improve safety on their vehicles while reducing risk of mirror strikes.

SmartVision’s improved Class II and Class IV views give drivers better visibility of what is happening behind and alongside the bus in all lighting and weather conditions.

Meanwhile, 21st Century’s next-stop announcement system satisfies the Bus Services Act.

The system offers full control over the content, giving onboard passengers clear information about the next stop and upcoming POIs.

The system can integrate with on-board CCTV to meet local regulations about displaying recorded footage.
