Andrew Jarvis quits Stagecoach

Stagecoach East Scotland MD Andrew Jarvis, 42, has resigned and is leaving the company after 10 years with the business.

Industry sources report that he has secured a senior post with a large bus operator in Scotland; no formal comment has been made.

The post of MD First Glasgow has been vacant since Fiona Kerr left in August, having been headhunted by builders merchant Travis Perkins.

Former Arriva Midlands Regional MD Alex Perry, acting as a consultant, is Interim MD at First Glasgow until December. It runs 900 buses with 2,400 staff.

Mr Jarvis joined Stagecoach in 2006 as Operations Director Stagecoach South, having previously been Area Manager at Arriva North West. He joined the industry as a graduate trainee with Go-Ahead in 1996.

Stagecoach East Scotland operates 500 buses and coaches across Fife, Dundee, Perthshire and Angus and employs 1,300 people across nine depots.

Stagecoach has started recruitment for a new MD. In the interim, the business will be overseen by Robert Andrew, Stagecoach Regional Director for Scotland.

Jon Oakey, the company’s Scottish Regional Finance Partner, has been appointed Acting General Manager and will manage the day-to-day operations.
