First Glasgow is to embark on a partnership with Developing the Young Workforce Glasgow (DYW) which will see it link up with a high school in the north of the city.
The tie-up with John Paul Academy in Summerston will offer a number of opportunities to pupils to develop their practical skills, as well as enhance potential career options through work experience and apprenticeship awareness.
To celebrate the launch, First Glasgow Operations Director, Duncan Cameron took along current third-year Engineering Modern Apprentice, David Watson, to talk to pupils and staff on life working for the city’s biggest bus operator, his modern apprenticeship and why a career in the transport industry is an attractive option for school leavers.
Duncan Cameron, Operations Director for First Glasgow, says: “First Glasgow is committed to supporting the growth of employment opportunities across the city, and the development and availability of potential career opportunities for young people has an important part to play in the evolution of our business.”
