As part of Go North East’s 5.2m bus order (routeone, News, 22 April), 15 Wright StreetLite Max micro hybrids are being introduced onto its Lime route (Sunderland-Consett).
The route is being rebranded Coast & Country, reflecting the routes that link the coastal city with the towns on the edge of the North Pennines.
The new buses have free Wi-Fi, at-seat power sockets, next stop announcements, LED lighting.
They also have two-colour Tarabus wood-effect flooring and blue accent lighting underneath seats, to provide extra light on the gangway.
