Voith will unveil a prototype of its air compressor with TwinSave technology at September’s IAA show in Hanover.
An additional control valve in the second compressor stage permits additional energy savings when idling, as well as a closed pressure line with an external control.
Thus, the technology uses both stages to save energy consumption and reduce parasitic drag on the engine.
In applications requiring a ‘drive through’ option on the compressor, energy savings of up to 25% can be achieved compared with today’s Voith SLS system. For applications without a drive-through option, that figure rises to 45%.
