Is this the bus stop of the future?

The ‘bus stop of the future’ has appeared in Manchester’s Piccadilly, a ‘super shelter’ with free Wi-Fi, charging points and timetable/city information via digital touchscreens.

It’s the design of ‘Madchester’ designer Peter Saville, working with RATP, ad firm JCDecaux and design firm Aurel Design Urbain.

The idea is to get more people on buses by giving them a more complete end-to-end connected journey. Great, thinks The Whisperer, but does it have seats…?
